i would think that just about any computer supply store would have this hardware. It simply plugs into the 8 pins on the motherboard and then is attached to the computer case as any expansion card would be attached. If and when you do add this hardware and windows doesn't seem to show the extra ports added, then you should make sure that the wires are on the correct pins, just try switching them around, and also ensure USB is enabled in your BIOS setup.

Well...make sure when u get the correct cable that u have plugged it into the correct "pins" on the mobo. (There is usualy, on good mobos, a small printed tag next to the pins so this will help)

make sure that the bios settings are correct, meaning that it will allow u to use the xtra usb ports (not sure how to cuz i dont know what bios u got)

IF ALL ELSE FAILS: HAVE U GOT THA MANNUAL??? IF SO LOOK AT THAT FOR EXTRRA GUIDENCE http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif

AndreRIO:

I have a board with a 4 USB interfaces: 2 are "ported" and two on the motherboard require what you're looking for and what fellow members have described above. In any event, it was easier for me, and more useful to my USB peripherals just to purchase a 4-port USB hub. Now my USBs are easily hooked up and unplugged when necessary. Easier than groping behind the computer case searching for a port.

Another alternative is to purchase front-mounted USB ports that go into an empty 5 1/4" drive bay. Many of these also come with fans to help cool your case.

I think its easier to get a hold of the front panel usb ports the closer you get to the west coast.
A couple of years ago I saw these at a Best Buy in Phoenix, so I figured I'd wait till I moved back here to Okla. to pick one up.
Nope, not one store carries these or had ever even heard of it.
Kinda bites, because now I have to pull my full tower foward and reach behind it to plug/unplug my game controllers.
AndreRIO, if you can find one of these, get it. If not, a hub is your other choice.

But what your looking for can be found at a Best Buy, CompUSA (eewwww), or Fry's Electronics.
