So what speakers do you guys recomend?

My CA 4.1 setup just croaked. The board got fried, but the speakers are still good.

So this is my chance to upgrade.

I was thinking on getting some logitech z640's. What other speaker systems are pretty out there for the average game and music lover like mysself.

gjimene2 go for Z640 buy.com sell them for $55.. Click Here (http://www.buy.com/retail/product.asp?sku=10333150&loc=15898)

I have owned this Z640 over half year and it really nice. It was amazed at the surround sound, and the support for Dolby Digital 5.1 sound. Think about the cost and have 4 tiny speaker, a center, and a subroof. Is that enough? to persuade you to buy one? Well if you have $$ then go for Z680 (just $283.99) :D

My 641's are the best speakers I ever had, and they look cool as heck. What sucks though is the subwoofer was killed in a lightning storm and the 641 is discontinued
Altec said they could replace them with another comparable, but it isnt comparable at all. Watts and style.
I still have them, all the satellites work just not the sub. I wanna cry so bad

I second the Klipsch...I have a few year old 4.1, and they still sound incredible. Pricey, though.

For a budget...the Logitechs are pretty nice and clean looking.

Best...I feel are the Klipsch...

I like my Klipsch 5.1, they rock! Can be pricey. I use my trusted Cambridge Four Point Surround on my second system.

I got the Klipsch because I'm a big music lover and they sound great when watching dvd's.

If price is an issue, the Altec L and the Logitechs sound great for the price. I've always been a huge fan of high end stereo components and sound! So thats where my money goes......

My pc's come second to my stereo and home theater vices.

Logitech Z-560 are very good sounding for the price.
Any THX certified speaker systems will sound great.

well i was looking at the klipsch 5.1s because of their apparent strength and their ability to daisy chain (subwoofers).
Then I looked at these new line of Creative MegaWorks, the 300 dollars and up ones.

After comparing those two systems, i came to the conclusion that computer speakers are very overpriced. Same speaker quality can be found at a local bestbuy for hundreds less. (well more like $50)

My point, is that, when I was asking in community forum about home theater packages, I was planning on hooking up the receiver to my PC. its a pretty good idea. DTS decoder, THX processing, 5 deck (depends what you get)

See, the point is that you could get a much better rig for the same price, if you buy yourself one of those home theater packages or speaker sets.
all i have to figure out now is how to hook it up. Unlike those minisystems that have PC link, this might be tricky. Maybe with an Audigy 2 with output options I might be able.

what do you think of this tho?
I can get a Sony 600w system: 55x4 (sat), 160x1 (cent), 220x1 (sub)
that system, with receiver which has DTS, dolby digital, THX DTS2, SACD, 5 DVD is around 300 bucks.

now, with that, i can get myself the audigy2
