i have it suckers :D i had it on reserve at Gamestop and i got a free artbook WOOO HOOOO. i played yesterday from lunch straight to 8 o clock till i got bored playing by myself. i unlocked all the characters and almost beat the whole weapon master mode :p

if u guys are wondering to get it or not, get it its a great game

oh my gosh oboeman too much hype?!?!? the games great, and if u want a real challenge put the game on ultra hard mode :D

i couldnt even get passed first level against cassandra, she guard impacts everything you do, and if u guard impact her back she will keep repeating, there is no way of winning :(

although me and my brother killed her a couple of times, but we never managed to beat her twice

DOA2 LE is far better, want doa3 now and volley ball too!!! Hehe lol.. I had the orig version of soul caliber on DC> was hard to find at time. Great game. This one for Ps2???:t

My friends and I used to play the original Soul Blade for the PSX all the time, so I've been instructed to buy SoulCalibur2 ASAP.

However, since I own both a GameCube and a PS2, I don't know wich version to buy.

Besides exclusive characters, do any of you know if there's a noticeable difference between the two ?

I guess the GameCube version should look better than the PS2 version (framerate and stuff), but since I'm already used to play with a PS controller, I'm tempted to buy that one.

However, experience tells me that the loading will be 10 times as long on the PS2.

So ... can anyone give me a few pointers before I settle this with a coin toss ? :rolleyes:

10 times as long what are you talking about? when i play on my ps2 for soul calibur2 i actually think its loading pretty darn fast compared to some other games. there is practically no wait

as for choice between gamecube and ps2, gamecube you get to play link and ps2 you get to play heihachi

also..a lot of people like the ps2 controller better than the gamecube...if your one of those people get the ps2...if ure not, still get the ps2 version

Well, it's nice to know the loading time for the PS2 is decent. I recently bought X-Men next dimension and each fight takes a good 30 seconds to load, so I guess it fueled my fear of loading times.

The CameCube controller is more confortable, but I guess the buttons aren't in a good disposition for fighting games.
Advantage : PS2

However, PS2 has Heiachi, and honestly, who cares about Heiachi? Sure, I liked the Tekken games as much as the next guy, but they could have chosen a more interesting exclusive character, like... anyone else.
Advantage : GameCube

Actually... I think i'm more confused thant I was yesterday. I was leaning towards the GameCube version, but i'm 50/50 now....

So, do you know if there's any big graphical differences ? Do the PS2 characters look more polygonal ? Stuff like that?

i dont see any graphical oddities, it looks pretty nice on my 27' tv. looks great actually. i have a s-video cable for my ps2 and that thing rocks with it, even without the s-video its still pretty darn nice. i dont think there would be a BIG difference, maybe minor but nothing too big like comparing a SNES to a Dreamcast or something.


btw i hate heihachi what a stupid guest appearence, hes lame
