Have you run a virus check and spyware?
Updates your drivers and firmware to the latest version.
Checked the manufacturers website for fixes/info?
Dont like USB - Can you not use UTP?

Getting Cut off is probably Not a USB card problem. It is usually due to environmental noise. (2.4GHz Phone, Microwave etc.). Keep a spare long CAT5 Wire (it is only few $$$, and some people call it UTP:D). Use it when you need to download large files.

I meant use the cat5 cable to connect to your router rather than usb - USB has known issues with power sookin and other foibles.
USB is pish - Give me firewire anyday!!!

listen to this. we just moved to are brand new house that we got build. it told my stepdad to tell the to run cat5 through all the room. he said that he would and he never did. when we moved in it talk to him about it and he said that he prefered wireless and i told him i know that im going to have some problem. i knew the signal was going to be this bad. i have try to talk to him to let me go up in the atic and run the cat thorugh the wall but he said he doesnt want wires running around. he is soooooooooooooo hard headed. i have a wireless keyboard, mouse, cordless phone, remote for my sound card, and speakers just in my room. can i just get another dsl modem in my room ? that is the only way i can would be able to do cable.

Try re-oreintating your antenna - should be pointing directly upwards - move it to a higher position away from tv's , monitors or any other device that can cause RF interference.
Last resort - stick in a more powerful antenna.
With Cisco netork cards you can set the power up to 100mw - see if you have this option on your card.
There are the other settings on the AP - - that can increase area coverage / power but give KWEBB an email - he is the SYSOPT resident wireless expert...
