Is Video Card Adaptable?

Hey all,

I am a newb when it comes to video cards. All that I know is that I need one.

My problem is this.... I have an AMD Socket A system board made by SIS. It's a 266 mb, model M810. It has a 4xAGP slot. Does anyone know what is adaptable? Or even how I can find out?

Sorry if this comes off as a silly question.

Pretty sure that card will work in the board, but I think I'd go for a Radeon of some sort. The Geforce FX5200 is pretty much a dog.

For that price, it's a pretty good card.

I don't like the FX series much at all myself, but to get a Radeon that's better you'll be spending more than that. If you have it, go to newegg and you can get a Radeon 9600 for $119 with free shipping and that would outperform the FX5200.

Otherwise though, the FX5200 isn't a bad budget card.

with regard to your question, that video card will work in your computer...just make sure to uninstall the old video card drivers before you take out your old card and put your new one in :)

Cautious, SiS 730S chipset is a tad picky about which graphics cards work and which don't.

I think I am going with that card, at least know that I feel better about its adaptability. Plus, the card is going to be at least a bit cheaper than the list price because my brother works there :)

no way dude, instead of an FX 5200 get a Radeon 9600 about the same price a LOT better.

i was gonna say.. $99 is a tad expensive for a non-ultra 5200.. :)
