Is there and a way to add a firewire port to a laptop, maybe a Type I or Type II card?

There is a IEEE1394 Firewire/ PCMCIA adapter.

I do not know if this is the best price or brand, but it is available.

Just was I was looking for. I am planning on getting a firewire hard drive to store/share my mp3's, DV files, etc. between by notebook and desktop.
