This stick if $169.95 from the vendors.

I wonder if standard EDO 72pin, SIMMs with 50ns would work ?

specs->>

72-pin SIMM

Memory Sub-System : Printer Memory
Module Type : SIMM
Memory Type : EDO DRAM (Extended Data Out, Hyper Page Mode)

Something like this->>
http://www.crucial.com/store/partspecs.asp?imodule=CT4M32E2M5

Part Number CT4M32E2M5
Module Size 16MB
Package 72-pin SIMM
Feature EDO
Configuration 4Meg x 32
DIMM Type
Error Checking Non-parity
Speed 50ns
Voltage 5V

Well, I'm stupid, the specs don't tell me if it's 3.3v or 5v

Wonder if I could probe for voltage, or stick in some old 5v stuff I have laying around here ??

Smoke signals from a $700.00 Printer ?

I wonder if it really has to be 50ns stuff. It is very likely 5V.

What kind of printer is it?

Shouldn't hurt to put 5V chips in. (Easy for me to say since it's not my printer.)

But I would think the only problem would be if you put 3.3V chips in a 5V socket.

Looks like if the socket is 5V then pin 1 is ground and pins 10, 30, 59 would be +5V.

It's a Large Format, $799.00 Xerox, 13 x 22" inkjet printer.

You can add a hard drive to it also, but memory is what I need.

A 2GB drive for a printer? Who needs a print server? Add the E-net option and you are good to go. How do you like this printer?

Hey, one more thing to look into... I got an HP LJ 6MP from work when they closed and it only had like 1-2 meg of RAM... When I was searching for memory prices, I stumbled on this and gave it a try. Now, for what I had laying around, I have a 6MP with like 35 megs.... It makes sense that this would have some similar implications with yours...

Banti; I've never fired them up, Yet.
Still in the Box.
Some other member here bought one when I did and Raved on and on about all the options, functions, and quiet operation.

Thanks Sick, I'm not the only one miffed at the high prices for stuff that you can substitute a cheaper version for.

Thanks guys
