S3 savage 2000 Video card jumper question

On the destuctions it tells me the jumpers are set at 2X at default.

It says to open them if mobo supports 4x.

Open =4x

with the 2 pins (jumpers) They are both connected and it says in the destructions this equals "open" or 2x.

So if I remove the connector it would be closed or not?

I'm not sure what you mean here.

A connection is closed (the circuit is completed) when the jumper is on both the pins.

It is open (a gap that electricity cannot flow across) when the jumper is not on the pins.

So if you want 4x AGP, you should take the jumper off.
