SysOpt 08-22-1999, 01:18 PM Ok, everybody post their vote here.. I decided to add the borders but I don't have to keep them. Scott Roy 08-22-1999, 01:19 PM I prefer the old look. Less sterile. /forum/smile.gif Susan 08-22-1999, 01:23 PM Old socalgal 08-22-1999, 01:44 PM I vote old style too... less "busy". Dominus 08-22-1999, 01:46 PM I prefer the "Old" look also, I supposed I'm just more used to it. Glytzhkof 08-22-1999, 01:51 PM Voting about this? Nothing like democracy /forum/smile.gif. I like the new look better than the old one. Bleeding Edge 08-22-1999, 02:03 PM New! (Sysopt. Before entering name and password once a session was enough, now it is for each reply. Bug or by design?) ~edit: seems okay now, must be intermittent.. New! (Counts as three votes?) New! [This message has been edited by Bleeding Edge (edited 08-22-99).] Ceeffa 08-22-1999, 02:16 PM I agree!!!!! KEEP THE NEW LOOK /forum/smile.gif [This message has been edited by Ceeffa (edited 08-22-99).] SysOpt 08-22-1999, 02:22 PM So far it's 5 to 4 in favor of the old look, keep the votes coming in /forum/smile.gif. Bleeding edge: not sure why the cookies aren't working for you. They are for me. Are you viewing the regular domain name version of the site, or do you see the IP? Some DNS servers haven't updated yet with the new IP and thus, the old server is redirecting some people to the new IP, which the UBB doesn't like to assign cookies to I guess. Scott Stein Inge Asmul 08-22-1999, 04:53 PM New, new! Bazango 08-22-1999, 05:01 PM Old. The lines are less tidy and kind of redundent. The old style was actually more intuitive looking. You may lose new posters, especially beginners who are easily intimidated by complicated looking software. yaroa 08-22-1999, 05:36 PM Out with the old in with the NEW dawgtuff 08-22-1999, 06:11 PM What are ya'll talkin' about? I haven't noticed any change........ MrEd 08-22-1999, 07:01 PM Keep the new look. It makes everything look more organized. New, New, New. -MrEd CMonster 08-22-1999, 07:34 PM New DavidX 08-22-1999, 07:38 PM I vote for the old look. As Roy said, the new look is too sterile. Old, old, old! KillerBug 08-22-1999, 07:41 PM Old, these new lines seem sterile, unfriendly, boxy. Right now: equal!(if you do not count posts like, "New, New, New!") MAGIC 8-BALL and THE ELF 08-22-1999, 08:24 PM The borders seem to separate us in a manner that feels divisive. - 8-Ball And they use a lot of ink in the Old One's printer. - Elf martin777 08-22-1999, 08:47 PM NEW Eli 08-22-1999, 09:37 PM I'm afraid I'd have to say old... The new borders look nice, but they don't really fit in. chuckiechan 08-23-1999, 12:14 AM I don't care for the new lines. It looks like they are there because someone wanted to see if they could do it. After they discovered they could, they forgot to change back. Confucus Chan says: Speed and performance is good, eye candy and clutter is bad... grandslammer 08-23-1999, 12:30 AM All I can say is I like it NOW! I haven't been here that long (though I am here three or four times a day!) The cookies work for me every time. This is my favorite board(s) on the 'net. Better info, better people, and easy to find your threads. I also love the e-mail notification for responces! :-) All I can say is I love it - it works for me just like it is! Good Luck In All, Mike P. TigerStrike2 08-23-1999, 12:40 AM I like the new lines, they cost nothing in download time and make the site look better. Jerry 08-23-1999, 01:27 AM OLD OLD OLD welsh wizard 08-23-1999, 02:38 AM I am a stick in the mud The OLD WAY stu 08-23-1999, 02:42 AM new plse Roy 08-23-1999, 05:41 AM /forum/biggrin.gif to see the previous (not pre-UBB) look has returned. Perhaps some other tailoring ~ font? color? background? ~ is worth the same exploration. Stan 08-23-1999, 06:08 AM Old Look old old old old old old old old old old ... .. . . . Stan 08-23-1999, 06:08 AM Old Look old old old old old old old old old old ... .. . . . Andre 08-23-1999, 10:07 AM I´m sorry, but OLD! socalgal 08-23-1999, 10:16 AM The current "softer" grey lines are a perfect balance - and a good compromise! (IMHO) Dominus 08-23-1999, 11:32 AM I agree completely. Definately the best of both worlds. Susan 08-23-1999, 11:53 AM Looks good /forum/smile.gif Andre 08-23-1999, 01:05 PM Yep, grey lines! Hey!!! Now they are white, just before they were grey!?! LED 08-23-1999, 11:03 PM With so many changes over the years I've learned to adapt to whatever the Admin decides. Do what easiest for the stucture /forum/wink.gif If it was up to me...I would have never learned UBB /forum/wink.gif Mntsnow 08-24-1999, 12:31 AM I too vote for the "softer Grey lines". The other way was too harsh. My humble and unimportant self centered opinion /forum/biggrin.gif Mntsnow welsh wizard 08-24-1999, 06:54 AM Hey Stan let's keep it fair the old way is best but let's not go over board, they'll be accussing the the old style supporters of buying drinks for votes next! /forum/wink.gifhave a nice day and if admin keeps it the new way we will have to live with it, it's still the best d**m help site around /forum/smile.gif Stan 08-24-1999, 07:12 AM Yep... I do agree: this is the "best d**m help site around"... I have to admit that the soft grey lines look OK... Nice day to you too Stan philipg 08-24-1999, 04:33 PM New look for me and maybe some color would make it look better too. Spacetop_ 08-24-1999, 08:44 PM WHO CARES??!!! It's the content that matters and people who visit it, and of course the all mighty SysOpt. I could care less if it was a TTY interface as long as the posts stay the same /forum/smile.gif GB 08-24-1999, 08:50 PM Sharon Stone dressed in a $6000 dress? does it look good? AndreBranco 08-24-1999, 09:39 PM i like the old way better. i would like not to see appearence changes for the next 10-20-50 years. change only if is absolutely necessary (in order to grow.) Susan 08-24-1999, 10:57 PM Spacetop, it make a bit of difference when it's easier on the eyes. /forum/smile.gif GB 08-24-1999, 11:09 PM I go with Spacetop. What different if someone types right answer to someones problem on a new wireless keyboard or on 10 years old IBM keyboard? socalgal 08-24-1999, 11:30 PM Give me a $6K dress and I'd look great too. GB 08-24-1999, 11:35 PM Socalgal: It's outside. But what's inside?(that's not about you /forum/smile.gifYou not S.Stone and you Xtimes better even I didn't see you, just judging by your knowledge! /forum/smile.gif socalgal 08-25-1999, 12:38 AM GB - I knew what you meant - it was just one of my lame attempts at humor (heh) ... and thank you for the compliment, but I can't see it compared to some of you guys and gals around here. I learn from y'all every day! /forum/smile.gif Glytzhkof 08-25-1999, 03:23 AM Maybe socalgal would look great in a $6K dress, but I'm sure I wouldn't /forum/smile.gif. Nathan 08-25-1999, 05:22 PM I'm for whatever look is best for the newcomers. They are the ones that need the help for the most part. Bob-NB 08-25-1999, 11:53 PM New....It happens everyday when we look in the mirror.....a new look. Change can be good. Whatever works best for you guys, but I say new. welsh wizard 08-28-1999, 11:21 AM Hey you get to a stage when counting the new grey hairs gets beyond because they get to the point you can't find the original color, but we all have to change with the times or we be useing 300/75 modems on the site.
