Hi everyone,
I was wondering if anyone here uses any network digital copier/ printers in their work environment and any feedback on what they use. I do work for Canon and I do sell these sytems but I am not soliciting bus. on this message board. I am just trying to get a better understanding and educate myself on what is out there because I have never worked in a networked environment besides Canon and would like to know what the end user and network admins think of the equipment that is in their own environment good, bad, or indifferent. I can also try to help with any questions you guys have about the Canon Equipment I have the backing of a bunch of service techs., specialist, and a multitude of other people to ask if I dont know the answer. I really dont know too much about the smaller home equipment since I do deal with companies and not individual users.
Thank you,
Dominick

I can only say that our Lexmark suck and the HP's work well.

Also, whoever came up with the idea of "Recycling" used toner cartridges, then adding $2.00 of ink back into them, then reselling them for $180.00-250.00 is a GENIUS http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif

Our company is an HP h'agent.
We don't sell 'em, but we do see plenty.

From low end ink jets to the A3 colour's and the entire range of plotters.

Interesting you mention Canon.
HP printers have always been, Canon's.
Canon make good engines, HP made good software.
That's the success.
Mind, the support HP delivers is first class,
must be costing them a fortune.

PS. Did a wty call on an 8550DN last week, fuser had gone over temp. Easy fix, new fuser.
The spec's on this were interesting.
As I said 8550DN, 3.2G HD,64M Ram. Two cassettes and pedestal.
Being used by one secetary on one W/S on a local port. That's her printer! Cost $10K Aud!

HP seems to do well for us. The only thing is that they keep coming out with new models every month so drivers are hard to keep up with on all of our servers and purchasing the same one/ parts for a department down the road is tough.

We burned through a bunch of HP5Si, HP8100s with our Billing department. HP doesn't seem to really make a high production volume printer. A print-shop class Xerox printer we have seems to be buggy with its operating system. They all jam the same though.

I'm trialing a Ricoh 220 (also with the fax board). It seems adequate. One thing I don't like is that the Novell printing I'm required to use the old queue based version instead of the newer (and better) NDPS. I haven't tried Microsoft based printing though.

I should also mention Ricoh's high volume copiers don't offer the network printing option and the color copier/printer models are very high cost for our medium sized business.
