I have 2 PC's setup with a Peer-to-Peer network. Both have Win2k, one has a modem and has ICS going on it. How would I get Outlook Express on each machine to share the same inbox so I don't have to download mail twice?
hmm,,having to copies of outlook express share the same mail store folder?? i wonder if it would cause problem with OE5,,,with OE you can specify what directory it uses to store email. Since you have two machine that are networked, decide which machine who wish to have the mail store folder kept on.
In outlook express, go to TOOLS, OPTIONS, then click the MAINTENANCE tab,,then you should see a button called STORE FOLDER. You will basically need to tell both OE clients to use the same mail store directory, but i think for this to work properly you will need to map the network drives on the machine that is NOT storing the mail directory. i may try this myself and see what happens,,,
or you could do the easier part and just not use OE5 on one of the machines... can i ask why you are wanting to have identical OE5 account settings on two computers that im assuming are in very close proximity to each other,, is it like a husband/wife setup and you both have the same email accounts, but like to use the computers simultaneously?
just curious

If e-mail is only running on one PC then I would be kicked off when someone else wants to view it, which I don't want. Currently modem has to dial in (extra phone charges) to view mail that has already been downloaded.

Look in tools->accounts->proerties->advanced and UNcheck leave mail on server. That "should" stop the mail comming in twice.
You could use export/import to get the mail on the second machine.
In order to actully share, you'd have to use Outlook and have an exchange server.

Go to tools, options, maintenance, store folder, and put the path to the folder is stored.
