I've mentioned in an earlier post about how I'm looking into building my first PC, and was wondering about a good online parts merchant to buy from. I need the whole deal - Processor, Mobo, RAM - everything.

Any ideas?

I frequently use http://www.newegg.com for m/b's, videocards and hdd's and http://www.bzboyz.com for processors and Swiftech heatsinks (both are close to me BZ allows willcall) the other stuff I get at a local rotating computershow http://www.lacomputerfair.com/

Lowest-cost isn't always the way to go. I use Spartan Technologies, http://www.spartantech.com/ as my main source, then buy.com, provantage.com, and outpost.com. I also order miscellaneous hardware from Computer Gate and Cyberguys.

Sometimes local stores have good deals. Check out this site, http://www.salescircular.com/

Often one vendor will have a special on certain items and your total cost will be less by using multiple vendors than if you had tried to get everything from one vendor.

Here is another price comparison site, http://www.pricescan.com/.

Solo is correct.

Often I find a similar part at Circuit City, Office Depot or a local Computer Shop for as cheap or cheaper.

Go here and check back a couple of months to get an idea of what we do here, I know it will take a little while, but it's worth the effort.

http://www.dealuniversity.com is great! I found an incredible deal for a Samsung monitor there, and a friend of mine got an LCD monitor from there for $100 cheaper than she'd seen anywhere before. They post deals that are actually worth looking into, unlike a lot of the bargain sites out there that just toss up a lot of random junk deals.
