been searching for an hour and can't find the post...help please

recently, there was a thread running about the limits of computing speed. I know that both SysOpt and RobRich posted in the topic. I cannot find the link to this thread. Can someone please help me?

robrich and sysopt post a lot so it be pretty difficult to find it by they names. Is there anything else you remeber about the thread that can help you find it. Like which forum, specific words that were use.

oops... sorry, I was tired last night. thought I said what the thread was about. anyway, the thread was about the limits of processor speeds and the various technologies that could get us to it

i think i know the thread your referring to, it's the thread where someone posted a newspaper ad from like 95. of a pc with a whopping 16k of ram. and sysopt was reflecting on how far we have come in 5 years and where we might be in 5..no idea how to search that one down, if it's even the right one..

well, I certainly feel better that no one else can find the thread that I'm talking about either.

ummm... it was in reference to the article that emcron posted, but it was not the thread he posted. jeez... I can't really think of any more specifics about it or I'd probably have found it by now...

any more help is certainly appreciated..

btw-did a chunk of threads dissappear lately - perhaps some sort of move at the server level?

Seem to think it was in the old Brainstorming forum which is now defunct unfortunately. I remember the thread but can't recall the detail.

The search function is still a little iffy I've found.
