Hello, I have a GeForce4 Ti4200 128DDR 8xAGP video card. I noticed that it supports DirectX8.1 and lower. I was wondering that if I got DirectX9, will my games still work since the video card wont support DirectX9? Or What! I Am confused on DirectX!!Thanks, Bye!

yah it wont hurt to download dx9.0, it will still be compatible

Direct X 9 will be fine, the card only has hardware support for DX8.1 and below, this means exclusive hardware features to Direct X 9 cards will be emulated by the direct X software for non-direct X cards

You do not have to have hardware feature support for the direct X release number to use it
