Time to buy a new printer, so I was wondering if any of you guys have had any experience with any of those two printers...
Thanks
M.
PS: I am going to butµy my FIRST AMD TBird soon (have always bought Intel up to now). Is the TBird 1.4Mhz a good choice? I mean in terms of OClocking... Also, it seems that no Mobo is good enough for the moment, but maybe I'm wrong on that. Finally, is it worth going DDR, or more and cheaper DRAM is better? Thanks again.

As far as the printers go I have an Epson 777i and an HP 712C, and the low-price Epson beats out the HP!
And, yes it is definately worth getting the DDR RAM, there is a noticeable increase in performance w/DDR and a T-Bird
Good luck in ur choices!

You can get the HP 895cxi at www.staples.com (http://www.staples.com) for about $116.00 using the www.techbargains.com (http://www.techbargains.com) coupon.
This HP is a "Professional" unit with a duty cycle of 3000 pages per month, that's 100 per day.
I'd think this one is built a bit more sturdy given those specs.
The HP's are cheaper on ink than the Epson in the LONG run.
HP is rated as the low cost ink user, all the 700's and 800 Series use the large 42ml carts EXCEPT the 840,841 & 842c printes.
Those use the 21ml carts.
The 895 uses the CR1823g which bought in the twin pack under p/n CR1823T for $48 minus discounts makes them much cheaper than the 900 Series HP's to operate.
Epson's ink carts are cheap also, BUT the print head is NOT part of the cartridge.
IF you let the printer sit for too long, and the ink dries up,, bye bye printer.
If you choose the Epson 777, get it here for $71.00->> http://accessories.us.dell.com/sna/index.asp?customer_id=19
You can get the Epson 880 there for $110.00 then subtract a $30.00 Rebate making it $80
AND get free s&h cuz it's over $100

Once again, the Doc is giving good advice! http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif
I have the 932C and won't give it up!
I'm working part-time at Staples and I hear a lot of grumbling about the Epson print heads. Personally, I've heard enough to stay away from Epson, Lexmark, and Canon, all for the same reason -- PRINT HEADS!!!

The 1.4 chip has less headroom for overclock than the lower rated ones. I think 1.5 is wher the TBird tops (or thereabout). For the price difference, go for the 1.3 (or 1.2) chips (their 266 flavors, aka C) and clock them easily to 1.4
Now for DDR, yes go ahead! BUT DDR memory costs the same as older SDR ram. Don't let the sharks fool you in their ignorance or apetite for profit!!! If you go to crucial's site and any online retailer, you'll see what I'm saying.
On the printer matter, it ends up to what you're going to do with it. I have both an Epson (photo790) and an HP (890C). The HP is a better printer: faster, more economic and you just can't match their document quality. But the epson has the best photographic quality! It's slow, noisy, eats up tons of ink, but it delivers! For general use I believe the HP is better! (at least mine). BTW, if you're buying the Epson go for a Photo one. The Photo890 is quite cheap and you will have the 6 color inks for (far) better color output. For text though, the HP is no match!
