Hi. The IP address range that ZoneAlarm allows my 10/100 adapter to have is very big. It calls it an adapter subnet. Anyways the range is from 192.168.X.X to 255.255.255.0. Does this mean that any computer with an IP address that is between that range can access my computer without ZoneAlarm minding?

Thanxs

P.S. As you can tell I'm fairly new to computer security. ;)

192.168.x.x is a non-routable subnet. You probably have a router or ICS running. Allowing these IPs is fine because you would want to be able to share resources in your local network.

Yes I do have a router. Just as long as no one from the internet can access my computer, I'm happy. :D

Sygate Personal Firewall is better than Zone Alarm.

192.168.x.x is MS's notation for LAN's, they are usually not visible to the outside world (i.e. access through a ethernet card). I wouldn't worry.

Yes, but you can never be too sure. I don't trust my Microsoft router's firewall anyways. :p
