id appreciate it if someone could tell me or provide a link to benchmarks that show the epox 8rda+ compared to the asus a7n8x, and other leading nforce2 mobos.

I saw a coupel of benches way back in the day when makign my decision and heres nothing significantly between the A7n8x and the 8rda+, its just like the r9800 and the r9700 Pro, the 9700P is faster but by such a margin that it would be almost unoticable. The big and only real difference between the two is in overclockign, in which the 8rda+ truly is IMO the king, 250Mhz FSB anyone?

I got my fsb up to 211 (422)... if I would have changed the resistor I could have pushed it up further - but with me having to feed that first run 2500 a bloody 2.1 volts to hit 2.4ghz, it wouldn't be worth it as I wouldn't be able to go much higher, just to 2.2... and it's unlikely that would yield anything other than heat. With a newer production run barton though I'd have tried it. :)

Hit 203 (406) FSB with no mods. Great Overclocking board, just get the latest bios else it will love to crash on irq conflicts with your usb devices... unless you have none and disable it in the bios, still get the latest bios as that helps with oc stability with other issues, just that was the last one remaining, and they took care of it. EPoX also has excellent support and the boards aren't priced like they are made by intel.

The deluxe is well over 200fsb aswell. Performance is dead on with these baords in that way as they are the same chipset and basically all bench dead on. The true dif is. Deluxe if ya want tons of extra's including preamped sound and good oclocking(no spk amp needed). The Epox if ya just want sound nf2 with great oclocking. Most take persay 2500+ to 3200+ speeds. Both will do this. Your avg oclocker will not be limited by the asus in any way. Only if you run unreal settings like 250fsb with high multi etc and 2.8gig speed. Most need great cooling to go withthat-like LN or atleast water cooling and peliter. You can get the same max mhz out of useing mutli-s and lower fsb of 200. Bonus='s mem is stable as its in spec. Can overcome the 12.5 multi lock too on 2500+ and such. But no need. 11x200 is 3200+ (2.2gig). 12.5 200fsb is 2.5gig. I dont think you need more oclocking headroom than that. So both are gonna olcock = for you.

The real issue should be. Is the extras with deluxe asus worth the extra $ to you. It was for me-but I have a use for all the features too! If not then go for Epox instead, save a few bucks, and not miss anything. Both boards are amd approved so ya know their good and feature thermal overload protection. Ausus shuts down at 65c with C.O.P. Imagine the epox is same temp to be certified.:t

Yup, the A7n8x D is still a very good overclocker, but the 8rda+ (along with the Nf7-S v2.0) is the weapon of choice for the 'extreme' overclocking fraternity. Its also a good deal cheaper than the A7n8x, which, if your as low on cash as i always am, is a good thing. As a side note it also seems that generally a lot more people seem to have initial setup problems with the A7n8x Deluxe than any of the nforce 2 offerings
