Click to See Complete Forum and Search --> : Sound card without direct CD play
I'm looking for a sound card that doesn't directly connect the CD IN interface with the speakers. I'd like to be able to modify the sound's bass and treble, like in the ADVANCED options of Windows' volume control.
Is there such a card ?

I use Windows Media Player 7.1, it has an equalizer, WOWthing sound enhancement, and plays CD's very nicely. If you're worried about resource use, WMP uses very little resources when minimized and playing audio.
Almost forgot, it reads the CDs digitally instead of letting the CDROM player give you analog audio. And it's free!

If I understand correctly, WMP 7.1 reads by the IDE cable instead of using the CD to sound card cable ?
