Undeadlord 06-26-2001, 06:47 AM Hawk, Is it ugly?? Well it looks plain and functional, but I bet it would look a heck of alot better with some spray paint http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif Undeadlord NDC 06-26-2001, 06:52 AM To be honest with you, I think it looks good. It certainly has a lot of external bays for expansion! Personally, I'm not too crazy about all those jazzy cases. Especially the ones with the disco strobe lights in the cases! http://www.sysopt.com/forum/biggrin.gif The standard white cases look better and you don't get sick of them too soon! http://www.sysopt.com/forum/wink.gif hawkeye177 06-26-2001, 07:03 AM I think it is plain too. Maybe if I put some flames on it, it would look a lot better. NDC 06-26-2001, 07:10 AM Here's the case I use for my dual setup. Just plain and simple. Just the way I like it! http://www.sysopt.com/forum/wink.gif [This message has been edited by NDC (edited 06-26-2001).] hawkeye177 06-26-2001, 07:21 AM how about flames Fingers 06-26-2001, 07:29 AM That's a pretty good representation of what it will look like if the heatsink on your T-Bird ever comes loose. hehehe http://www.sysopt.com/forum/wink.gif NDC 06-26-2001, 07:53 AM I have a good idea! How about a SysOpt case? http://www.sysopt.com/forum/wink.gif hawkeye177 06-26-2001, 08:16 AM Now that is cool How about this [This message has been edited by hawkeye177 (edited 06-26-2001).] club_med 06-26-2001, 09:18 AM Not ugly, just very plain. cm. P.s. The others look even worse, oops just kidding ! http://www.sysopt.com/forum/wink.gif NDC 06-26-2001, 09:19 AM http://www.sysopt.com/forum/biggrin.gif hawkeye177 06-26-2001, 09:21 AM nice huh Hawkeye178 06-26-2001, 09:21 AM Nice flames http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif Hawkeye178 06-26-2001, 09:43 AM How about this one. HEHE http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif Hawkeye178 Brangwen 06-26-2001, 01:59 PM I think the case looks good. Is that a mid or full-size tower? Some good vents (added if necessary) and it is likely very good. After you fill 2-3 bays and maybe even apply a paint job, I think it could look great! Brangwen http://www.sysopt.com/forum/wink.gif [This message has been edited by Brangwen (edited 06-26-2001).] hawkeye177 06-26-2001, 02:04 PM It is a full tower. I bought it a few days ago and they just sent it to me. I have not received it yet so I cant tell how good or bad it looks. neodave 06-26-2001, 05:35 PM I don't think it'll do any long term harm to your relationships. How many $ if you don't mind. I wouldn't mind having one. neodave hawkeye177 06-26-2001, 05:49 PM I bought it for 38 dollars on ebay. Shipping was 20 and it does no come with a power supply. Look around at ebay i bet you will find some good deals. hawkeye177 06-26-2001, 05:51 PM I found it. 35 dollars http://cgi.ebay.com/aw-cgi/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=1249492489 also found the case on the website http://www.discountforce.net/fullatxwhite.htm click on the image and you will find that that is the same one [This message has been edited by hawkeye177 (edited 06-26-2001).] alondra 06-26-2001, 06:48 PM I think it looks like a case should look. clean and useable, I look at cases, like new cars, they too have to much plastic and curves, and not enough strong metal MR COMPUTER 06-26-2001, 07:01 PM I made the mistake of buying a couple of those to build with a while back. Never Again! Interior shell is flimsy and sharp edged. Drives do not line up in the bays. Even the exterior cover is hard to put back on. I would pass on that one. IMHO... http://www.sysopt.com/forum/wink.gif hawkeye177 06-26-2001, 07:11 PM I will tell you the quality of the case when it comes in. MiKe85 06-26-2001, 08:05 PM I don't think it's ugly, just a bit plain.. If I got this case, it would give me a challenge (Art isn't one of my fine points http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif) hawkeye177 06-26-2001, 08:11 PM I will have to contract hawkeye178 to paint flames on my computer. I too suck at art. jokostel 06-26-2001, 09:52 PM me, i just put directx, edelbrock and t-bird stickers on my case. good enough for me... gotta get my camera working for the pic though... http://www.sysopt.com/forum/frown.gif jokostel hawkeye177 06-26-2001, 09:56 PM stickers may be a very good idea. Very cheap and easy to put on. jokostel 06-26-2001, 10:24 PM heres my system pic http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif dont forget good ol edelbrock http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif jokostel [This message has been edited by jokostel (edited 06-26-2001).] hawkeye177 06-26-2001, 10:29 PM that is cool [This message has been edited by hawkeye177 (edited 06-26-2001).] jokostel 06-26-2001, 10:31 PM refresh or show pic on them ... or could just goto the url http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif jokostel jokostel 06-26-2001, 10:35 PM that case is my "main -man " system it houses a t-bird 1.1ghz nonoc abit kt7a 128mb infineon pc133 cas3 running at cas2@133 sb live value dazzle dvc-II usr56k pci linksys 10/100 nic intel pc camera OCZ Glacier II heatsink n cpu (36cfm 6k rpm) Nvidia referance board geforce2mx400 32mb Wombat 06-26-2001, 11:12 PM NDC, excellent setup. http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif gfunkmartin 07-05-2001, 11:13 AM I like plain jane cases too...with all these so-called "designer cases" and "aesthetic cases" manufacturers forget about the large amount of people that like unobtrusive quiet cases. let's blame it all on Macintoshes! Jason Barney 07-05-2001, 02:31 PM A mini full tower? That's like a small giant. http://www.sysopt.com/forum/wink.gif http://www.sysopt.com/forum/biggrin.gif The case looks good. http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif I have a real full tower, also a "plain jane", it's 24.5" tall. I plan on modding it (painting it, a window, blacklight, extra intake and blowholes), but I need to find the time and money first. http://www.sysopt.com/forum/wink.gif http://www.sysopt.com/forum/biggrin.gif I don't like the "designers" cases. I saw this case a while ago that looks like a Nokia phone. Yuck! I would never want a case like that. [This message has been edited by Barney (edited 07-05-2001).] hawkeye177 07-05-2001, 02:41 PM I allready drilled 2 holes. One in the top for a 92mm fan and a hole in the side for a 92mm fan. I also have two 80mm fans inside. Savant 07-05-2001, 05:34 PM looks like just what I want, if its built sturdily enough (I believe that pc cases should be strong enough to be used as chairs, tables etc.) hawkeye177 07-05-2001, 05:43 PM I dont think I want to sit on my case. If i sit on it I will be poked, by the flaw of my cutting. Savant 07-05-2001, 09:21 PM yea, but I've never quite gotten around to cutting on my cases, but I have been known to sit on them, or eat at them depending on whether its my chair or my desk thats to full of stuff to use [This message has been edited by Savant (edited 07-05-2001).] plucky duck 07-05-2001, 11:52 PM I too do not recommend going with the idea of getting the cheapest case one can find. Cases, like monitors, stay with you for quite a while, so in the end you'll get what you pay for and will have to live with it (longer than with your spouse, perhaps? http://www.sysopt.com/forum/wink.gif for a long long time. Get a decent one with no flimsy, shaky, wobbly construction and make sure that all things align and are shaped properly. Save yourself the pain, as Mr. Computer had suggested earlier... I personally, place more value over the internal over the exterior looks. Although it never hurts to have the coolest looking kicka$$ case in the neighbourhood http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif hehe Plucky hawkeye177 07-06-2001, 12:39 AM The case I bought is lower quality. It has some hammer damage due to modification by my uncapable self. The case is made of lower quality steel but everything else seems to be pretty good. There is not a lot of plastic in this case. The case is what Call mini full tower. It is about 4" bigger than a mid tower. I wil put some pics on. SysOpt.com
