Hi, after I tried installing the driver for a NIC card, I now have the following error that comes on when I boot my PC.

If you deleted this file on purpose, try uninstalling the associated application using its uninstall or setup program.

The driver file in question is dfs.vxd.

QUESTION: How do I stop windows for looking for this file without running an uninstall program?

Thanks,

Alex.

You can do 2 things. First is to open your network settings panel and hit ok wich will install the network drivers again and make you reboot. If all is still not well then just copy that VXD file into your windows directory and you windows/system directory and then windows will be able to find it. Let us know if you have any further problems.

I fixed the problem by re-installing Windows.
