Ok, I'm already A+ cert but I don't have the time or money at the moment for MCSE. Is it work getting the network+ certification?

It is not that hard getting the Network+ cert, the study is very basic networking stuff -but it does require some study. In IT circles the Network+ cert doesn't seem to mean very much.

You can ask amongst many certified people how much it has helped them...

Wombat, I tried along time ago to use "Wombat" as my e-mail address but it was already used! Don't know if you ever worked with Wombat controllers before but I did for about 10 years 1990-y2k! Onces we changed the systems over for y2k we stop using Wombat controllers.

I thought that was an interesting name!

About Network + certfi. Does't mean much. There are some people who are super good with computers and network they don't have any certification but are in demand. We fired a guy last week because he didn't know anything about computers and he had his MSCE. He couldn't do the simple stuff like installing the Win2000 operating system and setting up computers.

Keep playing with computers and networks and you'll be in demand!

Grieg,
Sorry but I am not familiar with wombat controllers. I'm Australian, and it's a name given to me a long time ago during my single man days. You need to know the meaning of wombat. A lady friend of mine found it in an old nature dictionary, it's a true definition but it also has other meanings.

In regs to the paper MCSE, I've heard a lot of stories about them, but being as my time and money are limited ( father of a one year old ) and that my wife still isn't working, I was trying to find an alternative and thought Net+ might cut it till I can do MSCE.

Would MCP be less time consuming and less cost? It is regarded highly here (much higher than N+ and just a bit less than MCSE).

Will check that one out. Maybe I could do it a bit at a time.
