wasn't there a boot disk for the dreamcast that let you boot cd-roms? true, it was probably used for piracy, but if you really wanted to make your own game, that would seem more cost effective.

As far as GD-Roms go, I think you'd have trouble finding something that would interface with your machine, not to mention something that would burn gd-roms. On top of that, you'd need to find GD-Roms, and because they are so rare, they might end up being more expensive than DVDs.

GD-ROMS are regualr CD's that can take up to 1GB of data. I think Plextor has a drive with software that can do this. This is also the method used to get Linux running on the dreamcast..A project I am working on currently:t

Stix is right on. They are normal cd's with what they call "dummy data" that isnt real info . This make sit 1gig isntead of the 650-700mb disc size. Its (GD-rom that is) not really capable of holding 1gig real data. Its a form of piracy protection taht went bust within about 2 months with newer cdr\w's that came out. Discjuggler does the linux and other demo gdroms.:t
