Now I am using Windows Media Player 9 and I am also using Windows XP Pro. I found on the Windows Media 9 Series website and discovered Windows Media Encoder 9 driver. Should I install that driver? I also found a lot of things on the website that are related to my player but I do not know they are useful or not. Recently, I can't play a few AVI files on my player and a similar error always appear.

Error# C00D11CD

What is this??

I couldnt play some AVI's eigther with this installed until I installed Divx player and the codecs. After doing this I was able to watchn all AVI's. I think some AVI's also require the XVid codec to be installed in your system also.

It appears that many people get this error.

Some have fixed it by installing the DivX codecs and others say DirectX 9 fixed it.

Microsoft is useless for this error. I would assum you are missing some type of encoder that WMP9 does not install by default.

i really hate the new WMP. it just doesnt cut it anymore. what happened to the good old days when they made the classic one that worked perfectly? no stupid skins, just plain windows style. who cares? AT LEAST IT WORKS!!!
anyone remember the liquid player? lol
about the error code, why dont you go to WMP, help, and error code page to see what it is?:t

I have the latest Divx codecs and Xvid codecs but I don't install the Divx player.

I also found a codec update on Kazaa Lite website. I don't know whether that is useful or not.

I cant tell you if you need to have the player installed...allthough I do know that if you install DIVX plar as well as the codecs...and any codec updates you can find then if you cant play your AVI's on WMP then it is highly likely that you will be able to watch then via the DiVX Player...!

Give it a try
