It's good that ATi is finally making all-in-wonder cards that are not based upon powerhouse GPUs. Often in the past I heard people say they have an AIW 9700 but don't game; they just use the video features!!!

The AIW 9000 & 9600 are good bang for the buck, the 9600 REALLY good bang for the buck.

I just wish they'd make a seperate TV Wonder PCI card that had all those features. They don't even have a stereo PCI tuner yet (other than AIW VE). If they put the FM tuner into the TV Wonder Pro (which I hope will be out soon) - then that would be great:)

Well if they don't step on it they're going to lose a lot. AIW is nice for those people that need to save a PCI slot and such, or just have money to spare for it. Personally a TV tuner card will last several video card generations (TV hasn't changed much in the past 50 years other than color, stereo, and Close Captioning). The only reason I'm even holding out for the TV Wonder Pro is because of the video desktop and seamless integration with the remote control. If it wasn't for those 2 features, I'd get the Hauppage WinTV. It allows simultaneous 16 channel preview and FM tuner at the same price. I want video desktop though because that's how I watch it most of the time.

Those win TV cards use a standard video chip, I can't remember where yet but you can get some home made drivers that unlock your TV card and let it use all the good features of the more pricy ones, the chips the same, the tuner is usually a varient, so higher resolutions can be possible using these drivers. I'll post the site in a minute if i can find it.

If you look down it will say if you card is supported, or you can find out what the main video chip is, its a great way to unlock you card and then use freeware stuff instead of crappy programs that are poorly designed by the card makers.

after all Nvidia makes the graphics chips, not all the games as well.. its worth trying it out the other way round for tv cards as well.

I picked up a new ATI All-In-Wonder 9700 Pro off Ebay for $300. Why settle for the lower end card when you can get this good of a deal? :)

Sorry so late. . .
this is what I'm waiting for - except in the pro version. VE only has MONO sound, and I want stereo. It's slated for release here soon, but you know how these companies are!
