Ok guys.. you know that when you own alot of stuff (and I mean old stuff) it gets kinda dirty! You know, that yellow-ish thingy on monitors, cases, keyboards, etc.!

So question is, can I clean it? Will I get rid of that yellow-ish color.???

Sometimes you can, the monitor I'm using is from a smokers house and they used to park their ashtray right beside the monitor so it was horrible.

I have found fantastic to work just great.

K I just tried it out on the inside of the door that covers all the adjustments, It was HORRIBLE. I just wet it under the tap, sprayed a couple shots of fantastic on it then put it back under the running water, then it was gone, no soaking or scrubbing required.

Try it out.

Course some of the really old equipment seems to be made out of that nasty yellow plastic.

Dirt is generally easy enough to get off, start simply with water and work up.
If the plastic has discoloured, perhaps due to sunlight, you might not have much luck.

I find Pine Sol(spelling?) to be pretty good.

I just spray it on to the dirty area and wait a few seconds. While your waiting you can see it working, its really good.

You can also try Vim. It`s a really mildly abrasive cleaner that works well and gets a fair amount of discoloration off.

I agree with Spanky. Fantastic works very well.

I'm going to clean a keyboard, a case and a monitor. About the monitor, what happens if some of these chemicals get inside? Does it stops functioning or something?

You don't want to spray anything near the vent holes of the monitor or computer caes. Just soak a cloth with the cleaning solvent and wipe it on. Be careful not to let it drip in. Water and electronics are not exactly friends.

If you really want to get this lot clean. Its out with the screwdriver.
Remove the plastic parts from the metal parts.
Take the plastics for a good scrub in soapy water, dont use abrasives, you'll end up with a shine.
Take a clean brush and a vac to the rest.
And reassemble.
Badly discoloured plastics can be refinished with 'auto-touch up' spray cans.
Clean well before painting. Cheers R.
