Hi,
I'd like to put together an upgrade to replace my aging k6-2+ system.

Mainly, an 800 Duron and mobo and an ATX case to put it in. Do I have to have a 300w power supply? Just how much does a Duron draw? I'd like to get the Casedge mid-tower w/ 250w PS (I've used it before on a system I built for someone else...a celeron)

All my components right now are in an AT case with a 200w PS and I've never had any problems. So do I really need to go up to a 300w? Thanks.

Go to the AMD website and check for compatability there. I have a 250 watt antec model pp253x on a 900tbird@1050 and raid with 2X30gb hd, Plextor 12-10-32 cd-rw, Creative dvd, geforce video, and SB live. Not a problem to be found. I also have a total of 6 fans.

I have installed both Athlon and T-bird up to 1000 Mhz in boxes with 250 power supplies with the standard stuff in them with no problem.

Yeah..! I have heard alot of people said that their set ups have worked with 250w PS and it's good. But better be safe than sorry.! And if you are going to put alot of things, well...

I really recommend 300w ps if you have an AMD chip.

I would go with at least 300w. My 250w quit on me a couple days ago(Duron 600@850). I am going to get the Enermax 431w.
