P2P what's the best prog

I have only started to find about this in the last day or two and have alot of questions so any help would be great.
Q1 what is the best prog.
I have tried about ten of these at this site

and have found the best so far to be Win MX but still have many to go.
I have found that Gnuttela or any progs that use this network take over my HDD to much, would this be a problem with the way that I have it configerd or is this just the way that it is.
also if someone could give me the DUMMIES guide to bandwidth that would be appreciated.

Another question was how vunerable does using software like this, make you to being hacked?
I'm using Nortons for protection and a comdom over my modem will this help?

wea win mx is my favorite one over all the others out and there nis many underground win mx server you can log on into if u can find them

Use a firewall, Zone Alarm is free and probably the best one. Be careful, I read somewhere else where a guy started searching for illegal graphics files with one of these Napster alternatives and found lots of child porno on peoples machines. Evidently they had not set limits on the folders that could be accessed and he was able to search their entire machine. DUH !!!

personally i use kaza i have found it to be the fastest with my cable internet. i talso has alot of files everything from pirated software to mp3s you can currently find about 300k users online but when i started using it about 3 months ago it only had around 50k users online. Also direct connect is pretty cool for bigger files like movies.

as for kiddie porn any sick ****'s out there that enjoy that sort of thing desiver to have their computer accesed and their manes given to prison inmates that have accses to barbed wire.

I treid Kaaza and found that Winmx has got the files that I'm after so will stick with it, the type of files that I D/L are mp3's and have found the ones that I'm after here I also like the smart download feature that allows you to resume on large files same as Kaaza.
