I would recommend the ddr memory. For starters you will get a slight performance increase of about 10% or more over sdram. Also 256 megs should be sufficient enough for what you are running there is no real need for 512 megs.

i currently run 98se but as soon as xp comes out i will upgrade i have heard that even 128 is not enough to run xp at its best. oh and thanks.

I have the choice of either getting 512megs of kingston 133 SDRAM or i could get 256megs of kingston 2100 DDR both cost about the same and with the DDR i could get a MOBO for DDR ram for about the same price as my SDRAM MOBO. I play alot of games and do alot of 3d and picture editing i also download alot of stuff. Which would be better for me to get?
