The first SDRAM modules maxxed out at 32 MB. Those modules had 16 chips on them, so each chip was worth 2MB. The chipsets made back in '96 and early '97 that accessed the RAM couldn't read modules with chips of a density higher than 2MB each. Generally systems that had such chipsets were 233MHz or lower. So if you bought 32MB at your local retail store today, it probably wouldn't work since a higher density chip is used to reduce production costs. It would probably only have 4 chips on it at 8MB each. You would have to find someone who still has the older RAM. I sold mine out of my old 200MHz when I tore it apart. SysOpt.com
