I use Microsoft's wireless router (includes 4 10/100 ethernet ports) and a Microsoft USB wireless adapter. I use it all the time for many games (mainly Return to Castle Wolfenstien) and I never have had a problem. And wireless is a lot easier than dragging cables all around yer house. :D the xenon 07-30-2003, 12:19 AM yeah no problem man even for LAN gaming i got the linksys one it works great ooops 07-30-2003, 07:31 AM Reason I ask is that while playing SOF2 , the connection lags out for a few seconds and then re-connects. It seems to only happen when the action increases. Which means just as I'm being shot at or I'm returning fire , I lag and die. Could the 128 bit WEP be affecting this??? bob05 07-30-2003, 10:16 AM I get that lost connection message sometimes when I play SOFII MP Demo and RTCW: ET. But it only happened when I first installed it and now its fewer and less frequent. I don't have any kind of security (64 bit or 128 bit) mainly beacuse no one around is really computer saavy (let alone using wireless internet  ). It might be the security settings. But how far is the computer away from the router? NJEnviroguy 07-30-2003, 10:38 AM Using the Linksys wireless router and no issues I'd say 99% of the time. Maybe once a week or so I get a "connection failed" in R6:Raven Shield. Usually on MMORPGs and never had an issue. ooops 07-30-2003, 10:59 AM Less than 20 ft. from each other. I'll turn off WEP and see if that makes a diff. the xenon 07-30-2003, 01:34 PM how many wireless PC do u have connected to that router? WEP shouldnt be effecting the lag too much ooops 07-30-2003, 02:49 PM Just 1 now , but I've been reading at the 802.11 forum that my 2.4 ghz phone might be an issue. Some don't have any issues , but alot of the other users did and changed to 900 mhz or 5.8ghz phones and their intermittent connection issues went away. ooops 07-31-2003, 04:35 PM Well ........... it even dis-connects when I connect with the wire. It must be something with the router and their tech support told me I have a "version 2 " unit which the engineers are working on a beta firmware revision. :( SysOpt.com
