Does the KT133 chipset have the same problems as the KT133a chipset?? I have been looking at getting the A-Bit KT7 Raid mobo instead of the Asus A7V133 mobo because of these problems. Is the KT7 raid mobo capable of running 266fsb athlons with a bios upgrade? (BTW I don't mean the Kt7A Raid mobo)

Now if Asus have fixed these problems in newer bios version i will get it but i have e-mail them and it's now been over a month without reply, so do u guys know if there new bios versions contain a fix?

I don't really want the hassle of data corruption etc... from copying over 100mb of data.

Thanx all

Actually, KT133A has some new http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif j/k

Do you have the "famous" problem ? And if you do, the problem is not with the KT133x chipset, but with 686B southbridge.

Abit KT7 (KT133) can't run natively 266 MHz FSB, not even with BIOS update.

Here (http://www.m3dzone.com/files.php?directory=Motherboards/ASUS/A7V133/) you will find fixed BIOS for your A7V133.

Best Regards ...

Well, I read everything I can find on this subject because I bought one of the KT133A chipset boards with the 686B southbridge.

The general concensus is that no bios upgrade will totally fix the corruption problems. Its hardware related therefor, a software fix only has certain work arounds.

Here are a couple of threads that are interesting concerning this subject.
