I just recieved an email from Photopoint.com. Starting July 3 they will be charging for remote hosting services. As in, if I want to post a pic here that is hosted at Photopoint.com, I cannot w/o paying them $30 month (lol riiiiighhtt).

I used to use some other service that Socalgal recommended to me, but that shut down altogether.

What else is out there?? Anything?

Companies need to make money do they not? I don't see anyone can say they are out of line.

How were they making money anyway? They didn't even advertise with the photos u would paste here for other people to see?

I was wondering when they would start charging.

Do you get any free webspace from your ISP? Just use that.

Dam, should've looked in the forum first I just submited a story on this on the homepage. I use photopoint as well as I don't know how to set up an FTP with the Space I get with my ISP.
Hey Warthog, if know anything about web-building give me a mail and you can use the space as much as you like for image hosting, I get like 10mb I think.

Thx a great deal NDC, that link was great.

No worries Wart, I've no idea with HTML or building web-sites either, I've had that space for like 3 years now and have no idea how to use it http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif

To set up my web space that my ISP allows me I just used an FTP program [wsftp pro] and logged into my ISP with myISP.com and my account name and password. Once connected to your account you need to create a directory named html if one is not there already. You then upload your pictures to this directory. To post the pictures on ebay or a website etc use a similar address to this, http://www.yourisp.com/~youraccount/yourpicture.jpg
You can also make sub-directories under the html directory such as page1, page2 etc. Just add the additional directory into the pictures url. This is how mine works I imagine ohers are similar.
