Here's the deal. I've got 4 computers in the house all hooked up to a linksys wireless router. 3 of them are hooked up the traditional way with CAT5 cable, the one in my room is hooked up using a wireless USB network adapter. Under WIN2K it works flawlessly, very very rarely losses connection, its fast, infact I can't tell the difference between the wireless connection and my other ones when browsing the net. Its even reliable enough for me to play multiplayer games with no problems either.

However, when I have windows XP installed, its a WHOLE different story. It CONSTANTLY loses signal with the router for about 2-3 seconds before it re-aquires it, when it is connected its very slow, sometimes slower than dial up. Both installations (win2k/xp) were done on the very same computer with the very same network adapter. I had the latest drivers for both as well. Anyone have any insight on why this is so??? Its an 802.11b setup if that helps.

Thanks,

-Ramon

Can anyone say bad drivers?

Or maybe just the config of the card properties.

So you think this problem would be fixed if I upgraded to the 802.11G adapter?
