Now that I have stirred up some emotions --see http://www.sysopt.com/forum/Forum1/HTML/014547.html
I want to know how many of you out there are sick and tired of these d*mn X10 Camera pop-up ads all over the Internet?
I actually got so mad one night that I went to their website and sent them a very nasty e-mail that I would love to post, but can't for fear of being banned from Sysopt http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif
Just reply with "I do" or something like that to keep this simple http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif

I don't like them. Annoying and overkill. Makes me not want to buy from them.

How the hell do they get those ads to our screens in the first place? Do they make deals with sites we visit? or another way?
There evey where!

I thought they were pretty cool cams, so I went searching thru their site to find the specs. All they list is range, they don't say a thing about resolution or fps. I sent an email asking what the specs were, and received no reply.
Hence, I have not purchased one. I thought they might be good for my buddie's motorcycle training school, as a teaching aid, but I don't know if the fps is high enough.

There is a way to keep the ad from loading.
Find your 'hosts' file and open it in notepad. You should have an entry for 127.0.0.1 Localhost. You might also have an entry for Norton Antivirus.
Add another 127.0.0.1 entry then hit tab and paste in the URL of the pop up ad. Do this for each pop up ad. Since the ads change from time to time you will need to keep doing this.
