I'm dabbling with Win2K and am trying to configure the server. on the screen where it gives you 3 choices: this is the only server in the network, one or more networks are already in my network, and i will configure server later.

i choose the 1st option, this is the only server on the network(because it is!!), and i get an error:"because one or more servers already exist you cannot configure this server as the only server on the network. for more information.... blah blah blah..

this is very aggravating as i said before this is the only server on the network.

Just choose to configure the server later, and go from there.

if you want to choose the first option, disconnect your network cable first.

what are you trying to do with the server anyways?

It sounds like hes just experimenting for the purpose of learning something new :)
