Ok, I have 5 case fans and 1 exaust fan. all of the case fans blow inward with the exaust fan doing just that, exausting. When I start my computer, the temp is about 47 C.when it warms up it runs at about 52C when it is loaded it runs at 67C . I think it should run much much cooler. I have tried different heatsinks, fans thermal grease blah blah blah and i still get nothing. my other computer runs as cool as a cucumber and I cant understand why I cant get the temp down on my new one. any help would be greatly appreciated.

Your fans should be arranged as follows, three case fans at the front and bottom of the case blowing air in and two fans acting as exhausts suckign the used, warm air out of th eback of the machine in the rear upper of the case. Taht should help a little

No nee dofr caps, its considered rude and yellign and will get you nowhere real fast with people. Even if yu've tried it and it didnt work leave it that way, having one exhaust fan only is asking for trouble, your creating an inbalance with the old setup meaning theres a mass of hot air waiting aorund to be shifted by the single over worked exhaust

Ummmm sorry 'bout that. I just cant understand why I cant get the temp down.

Possibly a fault with the temperature sensor, do the reading in the BIOS temperature display match with those of your software monitor?
Also you say you've tried several heatsinks but what thermal interface material are you using? Thermal paste goves much better results than thermal pads, also are these HSF's rated for your CPU and are they and the fan installed properly and hooked up to the right fan output?

O.K. the temp sensor is installed correctly. I am within the maximum safe operating temp by about 2 degrees. I was using the thermal paste that came with the heatsink but I bought some antec preference thermal grease and then went back to the other stuff because I get up to a 5 degree drop in temp, and that is with the stock cooler. It stikes me as odd that the stock cooler keeps it cooler than the themaltake spark 7. I have tried different fan configs, diiferent thermal pastes, different coolers all together and none of them can get me below 48C WHAT CAN I DO???????? Dont mean to yell but I am soooooooooo frustrated.
P.S. the temps in bios match those of corecenter and scisoft.

What is your setup? Overclocking any?

No, no overclocking until i get the temp under control.

my specs are too long to type right now. what exactly do you want to know?

E2T2LO, you should open the case while the computer is on (preferably under load) and touch the heatsink near the motherboard. If the material is cool then your sensor isn't working properly. my mobo is the same way. actually it has no little sensor it's built directly on the mobo.(no rubber thingy) if it is cool then just turn off the automatic shutdown option in the bios and don't worry about it. but the processor speed and the heat sink and fan are the things we need to know.

Okie dokie The processor speed is 2.4GHZ and the cooler is a thermaltake spark 7 :r

The stock cooler is better than the thermaltake... they make horrible heatsinks... I have a volcano 7 that a new stock amd cooler can keep up with even after I lapped the V7's base smooth just to see if it could turn out decent... nope. It was then only a bit better than stock cooling, and that's comparing a thermal pad and free heatsink to a heatsink which cost money along with AS 3 thermal grease.
Still you are running hot. Most likely the sensor is faulty.

Most likely the sensor is faulty.
I agree, if a change of heatsinks brings about no difference whatsoever then thats all i can think of

Did you fix your problem yet??
I am running the same config as you. A 2.4b and a spark7. You did not mention(I think), you mobo/case temp. I am running on average 30c on mobo, and 38c cpu(idle), and the spark-7 fan is running about 2700RPM(I am using the sensor option to control it). Under real heavy load(3dmark03), the cpu temp will go up to 50, but the Spark-7 sensor kicks in and does not allow the temp to go above that(fan rpm under load is abour 3800rpm).
I assume you have the spark-7 sensor mounted so the fan will change speeds?? Or, one of the other two options, running full open at 6,000 rpm, or the manual control??
I do have good case cooling
2 fan on intake
1 fan intake on side
2 fans on exit, plus the p/s exit fans
Case is Antec 1000 plus I thing--big one
I did post a thread on mounting a larger smart fan with an adaptor to the spark-7 heat sink--no answers yet??
Hope this helps--RH--

At first, I tried the auto speed sensor but the fan would just run wide open and sound like a vacuum cleaner. then I tried the temp control from the mobo and it still ran wide open. if I keep the fan at around 4000 RPM, I can keep the processor down to 52C I have ordered some ASIII to see if that helps but any more info you could give me would be great. say, do you know if there is a 70 to 80mm fan adapter for heatsinks I would also like to put a bigger fan on my CPU.
