How much do PSU's cost?

I need to get either a 350watts or 400watts and does it matter if I get it from a place thats not known for PSU's or do I need to get a good brand.

350w -400w is a lot. I'm guessing that you know that you need that much. 300w is more than enough for most computers.
I wouls stick with a name brand like enlight, antec, or enermax. Do a search on the board for recommendations.

If I were to add a whole new PSU to my 250watts already in there would it run dvd cd-r and about 6 fans. And if so what wattage should it be?

Depends upon which Processor you're gonna use, then add some headroom if you are planning to add several HD's , CD-burners, LS-120's and Fans.
www.computergeeks.com (http://www.computergeeks.com) has a AMD approved PS for about $27 that is rated good through a 800mhz CPU.
It is 300 watt

The 400 watt unit is like $60+

I did NOT look it up to see what CPU that AMD approved for it to run.
