ATI Radeon 8500

I was just curious to why when i see the 8500 in stores (which is rare) if it an LE or not it still way more expensive than the 9000-9200 series?
Maybe the 8500 was the best directx 8.1 card ati made? My 8500 has been good to me an still serving its' dutis well :t

if i am right the 8500 has two pixel pipeline compared to the 9200 which has one pixel pipeline.

The 8500 is equal to if not better the 9000/9100/9200 cards, hence th epricing

It is the best dx8.1 card they ever made. And also the 9100 IS a 8500 just remarketed with lower clock speed ( a LE if you will). THey brought it abck due to popular demand. The 8500 (which I got) is 4 pipeline at 2 pixels each. Which tells you something. THe 7500 retail is actually clocked higher than the 8500LE is!:eek: BUT it has only 1 pixel per pipe. THat makes a HUGE dif.:t

In other words, i should be glad i got my ATI Radeon 8500 128mb (built by ati an not an LE) when i did? haha weird you'd think that the higher numbers 900,9100,9200 would be the superior card, :t

Well the 7500 is just a supercharged version of the original Radeon

Nah, ATi are starting to take lessons from the 'Nvidia school of product naming' as such the numbers reveal bugger all about how well the card performs :p
