I'm not sure, for some reason a specifcation was changed recently that prevents available 875 boards from running a Prescott. I don't know if Intel changed this at the last minute or if motherboard makers made a mistake. New boards that support Prescotts on the 478 pin setup will come out around August according to Xbitlabs.

As for specs, the L1 is increaded over the current Northwood (but am not sure how much) and the L2 is 1 MB.

There is a voltage spec change for the prescotts. you would need to find out if the board is compatible from the manufacturer.

S 423
S 478 Williamette
S 478 Willy and Northwood
Now this one. Thats 4 socket changes in one generation. Sheesh. I got lucky when I went p4 and got mobo that supported willy and Northy but still thats gonna burn some bridges with customers for sure. But I went rdram which Intel abandoned AGAIN. So add to that. 4 socket changes and one mem platform DEAD plus NEW psu requirments..:t
