Renaming file extension

how do i rename a filr from *.zip to *.rar, it's suopse to be rar but it's named zip. I know we can do it in dos but thats a pain in the ****. Is there a program i have to d/l or is there an option in wondws that can do this? Thannks

You have to view file extensions. Go to Windows Explorer, and to Tools | Folder Options | View. Take the check out of Hide file extensions for known file types. Click ok. You should now see all file extensions. Browse to the file, rename it with the new extension.

My way is kinda cheesy. I just open up my ftp client and do it. Usually, when I want to change an extension, I am uploading or downloading from an ftp anyways, so it works out ok. http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif
