I posted something like this last summer. I was given a link to Scour Exchange. It was great! until they shut it down http://www.sysopt.com/forum/frown.gif
Now that Napster (restricted) and Scour (2nd version in beta test) are basically gone, I need a place to get my mp3s and videos.
DO NOT say Gnotella/Gnutella, whatever it's called....that app sucks. Once about every 10+ tries I get an "ok" download - 3k/sec on my 56k which always gets 5k/sec. Usually I can't even find anything.
What I'm REALLY looking for is what my post topic says: full length music videos.
Is there any app or website that has those??
Any and all help is greatly appreciated!

Hmmm I will see if I can find a link to explain it better than I can. What you need to look for is people that share files via FTP. Try using search words such as pubs, file sharing, FTP, etc..

This link (http://www.ultimatefxp.f2s.com/tutorials/tutorial.htm) may help you a bit.
I use a program called smartftp (http://www.smartftp.com/) , which has proven to be a very useful program so far.

Ahh
Watch it iMesh has spyware! Also, if you get rid of the spyware with adaware, iMesh will stop working.
I dont know if you can download them, but you can view them on demand at www.launch.com (http://www.launch.com)
doesn't work very well for us dialup'ers though.
iMesh probably is the best program for the purpose though...just know what your getting yourself into.

Have you tried Direct Connect?
I've downloaded a few movies with that such as Star Wars and Gladiator.
KaZaA is the same program as Morpheus only diff. server both are pretty good but I also like using ftp servers- you can find things on some ftp sites that you can't find anywhere else and is usually fast dl time

Try getting Morpheus, my friend. Many, many videos and songs, etc for many, many people.
Many, many good things.
Anyway, give it a shot, especially if you have a fast connection.
have fun,

Thanks,

You guys need to try Direct Connect like Mistr2 said. I get nice download rates of 30-40kb/sec. If you are capable of faster downloads than direct connect is there for you. It's a peer to peer sharing so everyone shares at least 2 slots.

Direct Connect is awsome when your on a fast connection. I've DLed DC games with it from school (the last 2 weeks in electronics were great) but for dial up I would down load any thing more than 20 megs. I one time had 15K second on my 56K dialup using direct connect, I was downloading some movie I think it was an unedited DBZ epp.. Kazaa is my other favorite app. It will find **** near whatever you search for.

Kazaa was very straight forward and I liked it, although I haven't tried dl-ing anything yet. Also, I can't figure out how to change the dl directory. Can I?!
Ok...........what I'm specifically looking for at this moment in time is the video of Eve 6 - Here's To The Night.
I can't find this frickin' video. The only way to get it is to sit through TRL (yekkkk) and record it with my tuner, including the brief parts where chics briefly come on "Ohhh I like them because they are hot! woooooooooooooo!!!!!!"...yah.
Anyways...
*edit
Oh, you know what I realllllllllllly liked about Scour? It was the ability to stop a dl half way and STILL keep what I dl-ed AND play it. So far, none of these new apps do that http://www.sysopt.com/forum/frown.gif

Warthog, you can pause your download in Kazaa. Just click (or you can right click) on the file you're downloading in the the Traffic window and click pause on the toolbar.
What I'm having trouble with is divx on media player 7.1. Otherwise everything's fine.

hey radbasa don't use media player to watch your divx movies use the player called gdivX. works pretty well

I want to be able to stop the download - pause or just quit it - and still be able to watch what I've downloaded so far, whether that be 20sec of a 3min video.

Actually I can get them to play on realplayer now. What I'm having problems now is with files that have errors in the middle. It's irritating to d/l a 50+mb avi to just have a fraction of it play. I tried d/ling again but no luck. Also tried divfix but nothing happened.

Hey Wart a little off topic but have you tried the AVI ScreenSaver?I've used it for a couple of years,I run a loop of about 10 videos as my screensaver and periodically add new and remove old ones from the playlist so it never gets boring. Here it is:
