Howdy.
I built a server using a Supermicro X5SSE-GM ServerWorks GC-SL Single Xeon DDR ATX mb and a Promise Supertrax SX6000 raid 5 controller card. I have a Seagate Tapestor Travan 20GB Internal ATAPI Tape Drive and a CD-Rom connected on IDE channel 2.
I recently installed Veritas Backup Exec on it and have been getting I/O errors. I looked a Veritas's knowlage database and it says it could be caused by the tape drive and the cd-rom being on the same channel. Can I connect the tape drive as master to IDE 1 since I am using the Promise card or will enabling the IDE 1 channel cause problems with the Promise card?
