Appreciate some opinions.

Thinking about setting up a PC with W98SE and WMe, dual boot situation.

Have a 20GB hard drive that can be partitioned, or also have a second 20GB hard drive that can be added to the PC.

What are your thoughts on:

1. Should the current harddrive be partitioned, or would it be better to install the second hard drive?

2. Are there any good freeware, tried and tested, boot manager utilities to take care of the dual boot? Have Partition Magic 4.0 that contains Boot Magic, but do not know if version 4.0 accomodates Windows Me.

Thanks.

Should do!!!
You can do it manually also.

One OS per partition thats my general rule!

Use the other drive for data storage mp3's , drive 0 backup / mirroring etc and swap file!!!1 partition swap one for data!!!

Curious, FZWG...
Why 98 and ME?

Unless it's budget issue...which I can't say I'd blame you in the least...:)
But, why not a 98 or...**wince** ME and a W2K or XP dual Boot.

Best of both worlds...I'd think...old school and new school.

Just curious...that's all...

Thanks for the replies.

PC belongs to some friends. Adults want W98SE, kids want WMe.

A third party boot manager would be involved. Have Partition Magic 4 and Boot Magic 4. Otherwise there are a few others like OSLoader, the one you pointed out, etc.

Just tossing some thoughts around at this point.
