Hypothetical Situation:

You have a Road Runner account, that you use at your house. Your relative or friend cannot afford the internet, so you wire the cable and give him a cable modem and your user name and password to log in. Can these two people be logged in at the same time? and is this even possible?

Thanks for your replies, I've always been curious about this sort of situation:t

no, But here is one thing that you can do.

If that relative lives next to you, or even across the street, you can use a wireless network to share your bandwith. But you must encrypt everything for war drivers.

Or you can just hook up your modem, give him an time of the day that he/she can dial in and use the net, and set him off that way.

ofcoarse this goes against your ISP's regulations.

Just use a router and a few feet of CAT5 cable.
