Does this happen in all games or just one could be a prob resolved with a patch.
worse comes to worse the mouse should have come with some sort of tech support it usually does.

A couple of suggestions: Try increasing the I/O voltage up a little. In the Windows device manager, click on Universal Serial Bus Controllers, then on USB Universal Host Controller. Select Advanced and check "Disable USB error detection".

Did you try using the USB to PS/2 adapter to see if it works in the PS/2 port?

Do you have the Intellpoint software installed? Also do you have the latest USB filter driver installed? I think you can get it off the VIA site.

I second Bsdboy, stick it in the PS/2 port for trouble free use. Any USB mouse I ever used was a lot flakier than any PS/2 one.

I'm not exactly sure what it does, but on the VIA site it just says it enables USB functions. Here is a direct download link for it. You should try it to see if it helps.

Keep it on the PS/2 port. The mouse will work great and now you have an free USB port. Nothing else works in those PS/2 ports, might as well use them.
