Been awhile since I've installed a joystick within Win2K, but this should work assuming the process is similar to Win9x. In the control panel, click on "gaming options". From here you can adjust the properties of the controller. If you believe the controller is suffering from input lag due to a game port IRQ issue, then be sure to clear "poll with interrupts enalbed" in the controller ID subwindow.
Good Luck,

thanks rob, i've seen that checkbox, i wondered about it before.(with 98se i guess) but i'll be darned if i can find it now..i looked under gaming properties. and under device manager properties. i even have some H.I.D properties with my joystick listed.. none seem to have that checkbox.
