Zip, ditto and power

Right now, I have my external Zip and Ditto drives plugged into a power strip that I turn on and off, but due to the soft switches on all the other equipment, I find I'm still turning on half a dozen power switches anyway. Would it hurt the Iomega drives to just leave them plugged into a normal power strip powered up 24/7?

My external Zip has been plugged in 2+ years no problems yet. I believe the drive "sleeps" after 15 minutes of non-use. As for my ditto, all my tapes except 1 have crapped out (for 20 bucks a pop !!!) so I no longer have it hooked up. Any other opinions ?
