I was wondering how I would host an online game through my home network. I have a linksys router with firewall, and a linksys 8 port switch. Thanks!

i'll try to give you a hand here. since i have been in your shoes before, first(the way i would go about it, witch thee may be a easier way but its the way i have become most comfortable with) you need to find out what ports the game uses, diffrent games use diffrent ports, secondly you need to find out who to get into your firmware of your router.... lyniksys..... i belive you type 192.168.1.1 i think... i have a 3com... and its 192.168.2.1 errr now i dont remember if the lynksys is ...1.1 or ...2.2 anyways once you get in your firm ware you can then alow the ports that your game uses to be open. i'll leave it at that cause i still havent compleat figered it all out i usualy play with it for 10-15 minutes till it works but liek i said you need to find out what ports the game uses. i'm sure if you post the game someone might know and i hope someone can ive you a more detalid explination :) gl hf

How do I go about finding which port to open. I have already set up my router for pc anywhere so I'm a little familiar with this.
