Having not done it before, I thought I'd create a cd of win2k with SP4 integrated as per the ms Win 2k SP4 Installation and Deployment guide. It comes up with an error, so I am sad.

I followed the instructions, and created C:\W2000\i386 folders and copied the cd into there (boxed win 2k cd, no sp's integrated). Then got up a command window and with the sp on the root of C:, typed win2ksp4_en.exe /s:c:\w2000 as per the guide. I get an error of "could not copy all or some of the files...". What am I doing wrong? Does it need an OEM or License copy of the cd to work? Am I mis-reading the document? Does it have to be installed on a network share? I did it locally as I want to burn a cd of it and didn't see the point of putting it on the network for that.

I was able to sucessfully slipstream Win2 and service pack 4 using this guide here. (http://www.bink.nu/Bootcd/default.htm)

Thanks mate. I have sorted it now. You just copy the contents of the CD to the "c:\w2000" folder not the i386 folder and it works. Damned ms deployment guide!
