Its not really that good. The K3 is over twice the price and is only around 110%-120% faster than the K2.

How much faster is the K6-3 than the K6-2 (same clock, bus, system)?

Anyone made that upgrade? i'm thinking 'bout it.

I have a K62-450 & a K6III-400, (O/C@450) and even before i overclocked my K6III it was much faster than K2 (i never benched, but very noticeable).
I think it's definitely worth the extra $$$.

The K6-3 has 64k of L1 cache and 256k of L2 cache built on the chip wich run at processor speed. It then uses the L2 cache on the motherboard as a L3 cache. Adding these together gives you up to 2320k of cache depending on the size of the cache on your motherboard. So if your going to stay with the socket seven motherboard the k6-3 is a good upgrade.
